Superintendent – William John BURKE

 

William John BURKE joined the Hobart Fire Brigade as a volunteer in 1956.  He joined as career firefighter in 1958 and has risen to the rank of Superintendent.

 

Bill has been a totally dedicated and committed officer of the Tasmania Fire Service and his career has included.

 

·        United Firefighters Union – Long-term member of the Committee of Management.

 

·        State Fire Commission Superannuation Scheme – Active member (Foundation member) of the Advisory Committee.

 

·        Fire Service Advisory Council – United Firefighters Union representative.

 

 

Bill has also made a substantial contribution to the Fire Service’s  role with hazardous chemicals and is a substantial collector of Fire Service memorabilia.
