Second Officer – Wayne John BURN
Wayne John BURN has served the Tasmania Fire Service
as a volunteer fire-fighter since August 1968 in the New Norfolk Fire
Brigade. In 1992 he was appointed as Third
Officer and in 1995 he was appointed to his current position of Second
Officer. He was appointed as a Fire
Permit Officer in 1992.
Mr Burn has served the Tasmania Fire Service in other
capacities:-
- From
1986 until 1995 he swerved on the State Fire Commission Ministerial
Advisory Council representing the State Urban Volunteer Fire-fighters
Association.
- He
is currently president of the Retained Volunteer Fire-fighters
Association.
- In
July 1990 he was appointed to the State Fire Commission and is currently
serving in that capacity.
- Mr
Burn has given 28 years of distinguished service and commitment to the
Tasmania Fire service and the Tasmanian Community both as a fire fighter
and as a senior administrator.
- He
was awarded his National Medal in 1985.
