Brigade Chief Dale Charles Britten

 

 

Dale Charles Britten has been actively involved in the New Norfolk Fire Brigade for 30 years.

 

He commenced as a volunteer firefighter with the New Norfolk Fire Brigade serving in a number of positions in 1970.  In 1995 he was elected Brigade Chief.  He serves as a fire permit officer.

 

In 1985 he was awarded the National Medal and the Clasp in 1995.

 

Dale Britten’s leadership of New Norfolk Brigade is exemplary ensuring that the Brigade not only serves the community in the provision of fire protection but that the brigade is an active participant in many other community activities.

 

Recently under his leadership New Norfolk Brigade developed a program to assist vulnerable people in the New Norfolk community through the provision of home fire safety audits.  This program, now being adopted across Tasmania, recently won New Norfolk a national Safer Communities Award from Emergency Management Australia.
