David Leslie Haigh
David Leslie Haigh joined the Zeehan Urban Fire Brigade in 1969 where he served for 10 years before he left the district as a volunteer firefighter.
In 1980 he joined Ulverstone Urban Fire Brigade as a volunteer firefighter.
He was appointed to the position of Brigade Chief of Ulverstone Brigade in 1992.
Ulverstone Brigade as one of the States largest most active volunteer brigades places a considerable responsibility on its leader and in this capacity he has served Ulverstone Brigade with great commitment and dedication.
David Haigh has also been active in the management of the Tasmanian Fire Brigades Competitions Association which runs the fire brigade competitions. He is also an executive committee member of the Tasmanian Volunteer Fire Brigades Association.
He was awarded the National Medal on 22nd February 1983 and a Clasp to the Medal on 22nd February 1993.
