Report for Associations TVFFAF 2009-2010

It gives me much pleasure to submit my first report for the TVFFAF. As you are all aware I have taken over the State Co-ordinator position from Don Mackrill whom I would like to acknowledge the enormous amount of time Don has put into setting up and running the framework and making documentation that made the transition a lot easier. Thank you Don.

This year the executive has made some minor rule changes. The introduction of new rondels and medal clasps and in addition a gold fifty year bar of which one has been presented. The new rondels depict the period of time that recipients have been a member. The Junior/Cadet rules were discussed and will left as is for this year.

Letters were sent to brigades that haven’t nominated members previously. An excellent response was received from this with brigades still making enquiries.

This year there has been a total of 104 nominations.

TFS Volunteer Medal                                     TFS Volunteer Award                                     Clasps

68 Volunteer brigades                                   8 Volunteer brigades                                        9

17 Retained Brigade                                        2 Retained

85  Total                                                               10 Total

The TFS Youth Award has received a total of 12 nominations for the year. This Award has not appealed to brigades as much as we would like. Although some interest was shown at our display at the Chief’s Conference.

Funding for the Framework will remain at $2,500.00 per association for this year but will need to be reviewed due to the large amount of presentations this year and possibly a new medal run next year.

The Management Committee has Don Mackrill AFSM, Bruce Corbett AFSM and State Co-ordinator Robert Atkins AFSM.

Also acknowledge the review committee this year due to the large amount of nominations  received.

Robert Atkins AFSM
