Fiona joined the Tasmania Fire Service Stowport/Natone Volunteer Fire Brigade in 1995. In 1999 Fiona was elected to the position of Third Officer and held that position until 2004 where she was then elected by members of the brigade to the position of Brigade Chief, a leadership position she maintains to this day.

Fiona is also the areas Fire Permit Officer as well as being an active member of the Tasmanian Volunteer Fire Brigades Association. Fiona is passionate about the position she also holds within the brigade as the Junior and Cadet Coordinator.

Fiona is an active member with all volunteer activities on the North West Coast and is well respected in all positions she holds and has been deployed to both operational incidents and other state level exercises both as a firefighter and logistics assistant on multiple occasions since 2012.

Fiona received her National Medal in 2012 and was awarded the Tasmania Fire Service Volunteer Medal in 2011.
